Agreeing to act as a professional attorney – a good practice guide

The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) published new guidance on 3 March 2017 for professionals who are appointed to act as an individual’s attorney under a LPA.

The guidance sets out recommended best practice with practical advice and a reminder of  professionals’ duties and responsibilities.

Practical guidance includes a summary checklist covering:

  • Capacity and execution of the LPA

  • Relationship management
