Event Information

Cathedrals and their connected charitiesHow to make the most of legal structures and relationships

Thursday 23rd June, 2022 |
This event will take place an online platform. Joining instructions will be sent by our events team one day before the event.

This webinar is free to attend

Many cathedrals are fortunate enough to be supported by a number of associated charities, be that charitable music funds, friends groups or other trusts or structures established either by the cathedral itself or by those seeking to help it. However, sometimes it is hard to know how best to manage these relationships and structures so that they really do support the cathedral and its work.

Our charity law expert Sylvie Nunn will be hosting a workshop to explore the law around cathedrals and their connected charities, and to provide a forum for chapter members and senior leaders to ask questions and share experiences.

The workshop will cover:

• Set up and registration
• Governance arrangements
• Fundraising considerations
• Handling permanent endowments
• Legacies and what to do with ‘shell’ charities

This is part of a series of workshops we are hosting for cathedrals and so please keep your eye out for future events.

Please feel free to share this with your chapel members.
